The Center for Global Muslim Life is a research center and cultural incubator for cutting edge transdisciplinary conversations across diverse Muslim communities working to create a more just, diverse, and sustainable future for all of humanity.
The Muslim Narratives Project
A deep dive into the diverse narrative infrastructure reflecting on local, national, and global Muslim arts, culture, media, and knowledge production.
Global Muslim Cities
The 21st century marks the first time in the history of humanity that more people have lived in cities globally then live in rural areas. Today global cities are at the center of our world and little research has been done on the role Muslims play today in creating cities where they make up majority populations as well as large minority populations.
Civic & Electoral Engagement
Muslims around the world are leading powerful social movements from community organizing in the United States, to full scale democratic transitions as just took place in Malaysia.
Education & UCB Community
Our goal is to make an impact across the UC-Berkeley community from courses, study abroad programs, and new research and faculty over the coming years.
