Connecting the Dispora of Hearts - Building the Center for Global Muslim Life
Creating conversations across diverse Muslim communities working to build a more just, diverse, and sustainable future for all of humanity.
The Center for Global Muslim Life is a future focused think tank and cultural incubator that brings together a diverse set of researchers, cultural strategists, artists, technologists, community organizers, and policy makers from throughout the United States and from around the world working on key issues in global Muslim communities. The CGML is focused on the unique set of issues facing one of the largest and most diverse religious communities on this planet, while asking key questions about the role Muslims are playing in creating global social impact, diverse narratives, and unique contributions to the fabric of our rapidly changing world.
A Prayer Beyond Borders Film
The Border Mosque / La Mezquita Fronteriza started as a Muslim community gathering every month at Friendship Park to draw attention to families who have been separated by the US immigration system. In 2020 Friendship Park was closed permanently and we are working to finish our feature-length film about this project titled Pray Beyond Borders - A Reqieum for Friendship Park.
The Center for Global Muslim Life will build an in house production studio to drive narrative production ourselves. With a strong background in digital media production we will launch the center with a strong digital publishing presence that will range from written articles, to short film productions, podcasts, and print publications.
